Invisible Orthodontics

Clear aligners are an effective way to correct the position of teeth and smile, whereas traditional metal or ceramic braces (fixed orthodontic) are used for more complex types of bite relationships. They are indicated for mild to moderate crowding, too much space from 1 to 6 mm and for patients who have experienced a relapse after fixed orthodontic treatment as a result of not wearing their retainers.

Clear-aligner treatment involves the taking of intra oral and smile photos along with impressions of the upper and lower teeth. These records together with the panoramic x-ray of the jaws are used to create a computerized model that recommends stages between the current and desired teeth position. Differing trays or aligners are created for each stage that is worn for 22 hours a day for two to three weeks Through these aligners the teeth are moved into the desired position. The average treatment time from crooked to straighten teeth is 8-12 months.
