Ridge Preservation

Ridge preservation is a procedure immediately performed following a tooth extraction. Bone graft will be inserted into extraction sockets in order to prevent the alveolar bone plates to be collapsed in order to prepare the area to have future surgical dental implantation. It will provide better wound care, preserving the remaining alveolar ridge and induce the osteoneogenesis.

Ridge augmentation

Ridge augmentation is a procedure to increase the alveolar bone volume vertically and/or horizontally. The technique is also called guided bone regeneration (GBR) that we will use barrier bio-membrane with or without bone graft to build up the foundation for future dental implantation. 

Ridge Split

It is still possible to have dental implant at a limited narrow bone ridge. Ridge split provides the advantage of ridge expansion and simultaneous implant placement with predictable outcome.

Maxillary Sinus Lifting

Maxillary sinuses are located above the upper premolars and molars. It is a cavity separated from the alveolar bone by a layer of sinus membrane. After the teeth extraction, the width and height of the alveolar bone decrease with time. The sinus membrane also expands downward to cause insufficient bone of the implant area. At this time, it is necessary to evaluate the feasibility of sinus lifting surgery. The floor of sinus will be lifted and an extra space will be created for bone filling to increase the volume of bone to support the dental implant.

Soft Tissue Grafting

Soft tissue management is very important to ensure the longevity of dental implants. With only sufficient alveolar bone but insufficient healthy gum, implants would be jeopardized in periodontal bone loss, gingival recession, titanium implant surface metal showing, peri-implantitis and implant failure.

Proper soft tissue management can assure the life of dental implants. In this case, we used free gingival graft to increase the volume of the keratinized gum tissue around the implants.
